All 3 openings tracks are included in the game (NA, JP GCN, JP PS2) Forbidden Book extra dungeon has 5 more floors and new monsters Many bosses have new moves on higher difficulties Fixed several bugs such as learning both T&S artes New artes and elemental variations on artes New costumes, mostly from the "Flanoir/Heimdall Events" with whatever character has highest affinity with Lloyd Skits have more dynamic potraits, changing size and motionĪ couple more anime cutscenes during the game Sheena's summons now have a cutaway portrait image The framerate is 30FPS, compared to the 60FPS GCN version. Thought you would of already known that, still for €25 I will still be picking it up. I'll stick to my original versions thank you. Apparently it runs at 30 FPS instead of 60 like the original. Unfortunately I can’t recommend this to everyone simply because it’s not in english but if you don’t mind reading a guide while playing, PLEASE give this game a try.Well I'm definitely not buying this. Y'know, what Final Fantasy 13 was trying to be except not the worst thing to ever exist. The story is less about them trying to stop some evil scheme and more about the personal growth of the characters. But aside from that the character cast in this game is ridiculously good, one of the best in the series.

Also there’s a tension gauge which let’s you use arcane artes if it’s near full but the less there is in the gauge the more health you recover when using artes and you can manipulate it by pressing guard + up or down. It sounds hard simply because there’s very few healing spells, fewer of which are decent but once you get the hang of restoring your own health by using skills when you have a full gauge it’s really fun. Also there’s no TP, all of the artes you equip have their own gauge, you can use them as much as you want regardless of the gauge but if that skill’s gauge is full it’ll do more damage and restore some health, which is good because there really isn’t a reliable healer in this game. Basically you’re on a 2D plain but there are three 2D plains that you can jump between at will. Not as good as Graces or Xillia but I had a ton of fun with it. Veigue decides to travel with Mao and Eugene to help Claire and find out why all of these strange things are happening.Īs for this game’s placement, the gameplay is quite good. Veigue and new companions Mao and Eugene try to fight them off but one of the high ranking members of the Royal Shield, Saleh, takes another girl hostage and Claire decides to willingly go with them to save the girl. At first he declines but when current members of the Royal Shield show up looking for “the most beautiful Huma girl” they decide to take Claire. They help Veigue unfreeze Claire and tell him they need his help investigating strange things happening since the death of Ladras. Some time later Veigue is visited by two former members of the Royal Shield, an elite guard serving the king. Unable to control it, his power freezes everything in the area, including his sister Claire.

Meanwhile in the small village of Sulz a man named Veigue is awakening to this power. Because of this power an ability called the force which normally only manifested in a race of beast men known as Gajumas has also started to appear in Humas. The story of the game begins with the death of king Ladras, due to some strange power he used. Several fan translated scripts are available, I recommend one by Lanyn on Gamefaqs as it translates all the story dialogue and skits.

Currently this game is only available in Asia but a translation patch is in the works, though I don’t know who’s making it since it’s not Absolute Zero and they typically do all these things.

Tales of Rebirth was the sixth main title in the Tales series released on December 16th 2004 on the PS2 and was ported to the PSP and released on March 19th 2008. I’d always wanted to play it but couldn’t because fuck you Japan. Game #3 is one I’ve played very recently.
